At first, we thought it nothing but coincidence that so many of our brides were having their weddings at St. John’s United Methodist Church. But after we did our first wedding there, we realized it was no coincidence at all. It’s a beautiful sanctuary with large windows that flood the polished stone floors with angelic light in the early evenings.

Last week we put together a topiary sailboat to honor my grandfather, Dean Carr Sr. It was an unusual project for us. We’re usually doing weddings and events and few brides are looking for centerpieces that look like small sloops. Still, it was great to explore the capabilities of mums and carnations and I’m sure that Grandpa would have approved of the results.

We traveled to La Ceiba, Honduras over Christmas for a destination wedding. Because of the abundance of flowers growing in Honduras, we were able to pull together an entire wedding out of tropical material we cut ourselves. We had a fabulous time and met many wonderful people while there.
